Birdwatcher – von Brutinseln und virtueller Vogelkunde.
We wouldn't be why do birds if we didn't occasionally think about our feathered namesakes. Last fall, we were able to leave the screens and studios behind to get involved in local conservation.
Our hearts beat not only for songbirds - waterfowl also need protection and a place to retreat to.The H&S Foundation and its "Donate Nature" campaign have made just such concerns their business and are building a breeding island for native species. Swans, ducks and snipes find shelter here and can raise their young in peace.

IIn November 2021 birds from each department set out and spent a day with Milan Hänsel, the founder of the foundation. Between reeds and mud there was not only a lot to hear and smell, but since then also a small group of duck nests to admire - anchored in the ground by why do birds .We brought our impressions home with us and into your browser in the weeks that followed - as the interactive encyclopedia Birdwatcher.
At Birdwatcher, you can explore an old peat bog and learn about its hidden inhabitants. Birds with exciting peculiarities also live on your doorstep and we think there's still a lot to learn! In addition, all the sounds we heard have been incorporated into two downloadable soundscapes - because we can't do without sound.
